Christmas was wunderbar. I was actually working ALL Christmas day, and so the family had Christmas day on boxing day instead ^_^

Woo had been over for a few days prior which was lovely, good to have someone who I can watch TV with and listen to music with and generally max and relax.

[just paused for the long road to ruin video ala foo fighters - I do adore their videos... Master David Grohl what a dream boat]

On Christmas day [boxing day typically] ate too much, drunk some, played with presents which consisted of many wonderful things ^_^ Tried to help Tone get on wireless but it is lame... so didn't.

Had to work again on the 27th. Muh.

Went to Norwich on the Saturday, Hippy's mum and dad had a big Cran faimly thing on. It was pretty funky. Next day one of his cousins+partner+child came over, again all plesant - then went out with Tris, Alice and Jimbo ^_^ Unusual night really.

Hippy went back the next day >_< Was wonderful to see him for a couple of days though, as I hadn't seen him in about two weeks. Which was weird having seen him everyday practically for the whole term. Although I guess towards the end I was getting super stressed so probably a small amount of time apart was good. One more week before I am back to uni now. So not long to go again.

Getting stuff sorted on the flat for June, contracts etc, I am SO excited. Our own little abode. I'm already buying little bits and pieces for it, heh.

Have been ill with that sickness bug since then, ugh. Although I think I am getting over it now - managed to eat something and not throw it up yesterday which is always a good thing.

Going to take mum's shifts at work next week though to make up what I missed this week. I have no where near earnt what I need for my rent. Which is an arse. But hey. I'm a Kat I land on my feet.

Anyway mum is getting all the bits out of her hair dye box so I think I should take the hint. Heh.

And I am back, Old Year's Night was actually quite good. Drinks at Cheri and MJ's new flat with Katie, then we sneaked into the Wildman, where loads of people were - Tris, Jimbo, James, Joe, Ben, Fred, Phil, Punk. Later walked all the way to Ben's which was a huge trek, it was pretty quiet. Punk didn't say a word to me all night, which was odd, I don't know if he just didn't recognise me with the blonde hair? Seems unlikely though. Mind you I didn't leap across the room to say anything to him either, so. Cheri etc turned up a bit later, but we got a taxi back soon after. Got to see Ben's ferrets ^_^ Incredibly smelly, but even more cute, so it was ok. Amazing little critters ^_^ I didn't actually get very drunk, which was odd because I drank a fair amount.

Since then I haven't done much as got the bug Tuesday evening, or at least that's when it started.

Going to try and write some essay this weekend, then work next week. Busy busy. Although I am not even dressed yet. Heh. I feel hungry, which is good. Haven't really been hungry all week. Yay!

Well... wouldn't you know it, my car got vandalised some time last night.

Someone stole my back windscreen.

Yes.

They stole the whole window. Cut the rubber seal, and poof! off with the lot. And the windscreen wiper.

So having passed the MOT with flying colours, I now have that to sort out.

Been trying to call a dude about it today but his phone's off so will try again tomorrow.

Until then I think I will just leave it on campus. Covered the large gaping hole up with bin liners and parcel tape to keep out the elements. Otherwise there's nothing in there worth taking - unless you want an Alisha's Attic tape? Heh. Or even a Spice Girl's single?

Stupid thing is I didn't even realise when I got in the car. I was driving it towards uni thinking where the hell is that breeze coming from - checked my door, my back side windows, incase one of the girls had opened them on the way home or something. Then I thought, back window looks odd... and TADA! that's because there is no fucking glass!

So I drove back to where I was parked and had a look around but there was nothing there, obviously someone just needed a fiesta rear windscreen.

Ugh. Last thing I really needed - I am pretty sure I am above the national average for my car getting buggered!

I just want a bottle of wine really, heh. Sadly I have way too much work to do to feel too sorry for myself, so ne'er mind.

Speaking of which, I think I've had a long enough break now, so back to it I guess!

Woes of Cantebury...

Just a quick update before I have to go and shift my car to avoid getting a ticket.

Back at University now, obviously. MA is really difficult. Not so much the content of the course, I understand most of it, and I'm learning some new stuff. But there is so much work. Not only have I got timetabled lessons but my end of year dissertation and I am working on my PhD thesis.

I've got to get all my 3x 5,000 word essays in before christmas so that I can work my arse off over Christmas and afford my rent in January.

I've got a transcription job at the moment, transcribign spoken interviews into written word. It's ok, but unfortunately recorded in a night club with a woman with a very strong Philippino accent o_O It's taken me so much longer than it should, but I got an email from my boss this morning and she says not to worry too much so I'm going to try and speed it up a bit more now. Would be a sinch if I could actually hear it as I'm a pretty damn fast typer.

Apologies to those of you I promised letters and such - like I said, I am so incredibly busy at the moment. It's non stop.

It's not going to be a very enjoyable year really. So much to do and no money.

The new house is wunderbar though and I love my house mates. No arguments yet! Being stuck on the bottom floor is a little cold and noisy sometimes. But at least I am close to the communal rooms. Just got some shelves put up which have made a huge difference in my room, it looks so much better now. Everything is in its place.

I'm going to London this weekend for The Birthday Massacre again with Fran and Paul - they bought me a ticket for my birthday. I'm so excited, but also well aware that I do not have the money for this. Just going to have tobe really careful and not get caught up in the moment. Camden just has far too much interesting stuff. Arf.

Will probably have to take a book with me as well... even if I don't read it, it's the thought that counts?

Coming home Monday morning in time for my lessons at 1pm. Then I don't stop until 7:20pm... ugh. I shall be shattered!

That's about it really, nothing much else going on. Got to go and pay some postage at the post office thingy place, thinking it might have been something mum posted - no one else sends me anything. Heh.

Hugely busy day today. Should have written an essay this week but haven't had the time. Got a meeting tomorrow with Vince, got to have a bibliography done and a review on the literature on a sociology of friendship. There's not actually that much of it about, it's a fairly neglected topic. But still - there's enough intros and conclusions for me to get through! Heh. What? Jeesh, I'm not going to read the whole book unless I really have to. Books are made to look pretty on my new shelves ^_^ Heh.

I'm trying to make an effort to update this.

But I find I've got nothing to say.

I've been working a lot, that's about it.

Trying to figure out when I've got the time to move some stuff up to Canterbury.

Went to ambush Woo last night with mum because he's been so down and skint lately. We got lost, of course, but did eventually get to the right place. Woo wasn't about, so we came home again. I just hope he was having a good time and is ok ^_^

I've actually been able to put petrol in my car lately - other than taking Hippy to work and occassionaly visiting him in Norwich, mind you I've not been anywhere except a team meeting and shunting my service user where ever she wants to go... bit lame really.

Then again, I am still utterly skint. And in debt. Ah, joy.

Trying to get a huge load of hair stuff done to put up on ebay at the weekend - if I get a chance to. But hopefully doing a carboot on Sunday, fingers crossed I get rid of some stuff, not only do I desperately need the money but I need the space!

I would talk about actual work more, because it's pretty funky, and J is a star, but there is the problem of client confidentiality for a start, and well I usually blab to mum about work, so I feel like I'm repeating myself. I'm doing a few shift next week at a different place, as a girl is doing full time at the J's now, so I'm not needed there. It's with people with severe learning disabilities, so will be totally different from the norm, as J is super able, she only has a mild learning disability, and we go out places, and she cooks for me, and generally have a nifty time. I'm looking forward to it though, bit more of a challenge, and a totally different experience.

I get paid this Friday too, hopefully. Which is exciting, but also almost pointless as it doesn't mean I have any more money to spend or freedom to actually do anything [heaven forbid]. £1000 [near enough] rent is due in October.

Mum has just called up the stairs and Woo is coming over tomorrow! ^_^ YAY! God I really hope he's ok. It really upsets me when he's feeling so low, and he's not his usual self. I know he's mad at me because I haven't seen him all summer, but I wish he'd understand that it's not because I am lazy or just a cunt. I have my reasons, and I'm not making excuses, I'm not saying I am totally blameless, but you know when you just feel like shit... Being skint and being well aware of my overdraft/mountains of debt is a start. I've actually not been very able to get anywhere much - like I said, other than taking Hippy to work, or getting to Norwich to see him now and then. But I've just had such a horrible summer too, there's so much going on in my head, and I don't want to explain it, firstly because it's personal, and secondly, they're my problems, I'll deal with them myself - I've not been functioning very well lately. I think the last few months of uni were so intense it was all I could think about. then my brain seemed to implode and I was a zombie for about 2 weeks after, and since then I just, I dunno, there's a lot buzzing about. The next year is going to be a really hard one.

The only people I have really seen at all are mum and Hippy, and I haven't seen them very much anyway - even though I'm living with mum, she's been working so so so much, and now I'm working too it's nye on impossible. Same with Hippy, he's been working loads, and I've been so skint, and now I'm working as well... gah! I'm going to see him tonight though, then be back in morning for Woo ^_^

But anyway, apparently I have a sandwich waiting for me, so I better be off.

I'm not even dressed yet! o_O And I woke up at 6:30am this morning ARGH! That's the time that J get's up every morning. She goes to bed at 9pm, but the only problem is I don't really sleep until about 2 or 3 am, I doze off, but it's not satisfying. And I sleep even worse there than I do at home. Doh! Anyway, shouldn't complain really, it's all good.

Right, I'm going.

So anyway, I actually had a really lovely birthday. I was feeling thoroughly miserable about it and wasn't really looking forward to it, no real reason why, just did not feel in the 'party' mood at all.

However, mum, Hippy and I picked up Tone in Naarich, did some shopping at Sainsubrys for a BBQ, ate lots of food, had a few drinks, and sat in the sun all day [very rare for a bank holiday, not even considering the dreadful summer weather this year!]. Took Tone back in the evening, popping in to see big nan on the way, think she was pleased to see us all. It was a quiet one, but a lovely one.

There's something about this time of evening.

Makes me want to bash my head into a brick wall.

I am so fucking bored, I have no fucking money.

I changed my room around today. Looks good. I also have a really nice print of Marilyn Monroe to put on the wall, her beauty never fails to astound.

I should probably start reading for my dissertation, I did try yesterday but, you really have to be in the right mood for these things otherwise it makes you feel even worse. Reading about the portrayal of women and images of beauty will do jack for me right now.

Still not got an appetite. I feel disgusting whenever I eat. I had pasta and salad at about 3pm today, I still feel gross from it. Pfft. I have no idea what's going on. Anyone who knows me knows I love food, usually. I'm not drastically losing weight or anything though, so I guess that's good, I did lose 2lbs last week but that's nothing really. Maybe my metabolism is just fucked?

My sleeping is dire. But that's nothing new, it's just a bit worse than usual.

I can't wait until Friday. It's Vicki's 21st birthday party at Broom Hall, so it's a posh affair... I've got a very sleek black dress for it and a beautiful tiarra. Although, I am pretty sure my arse is like a small country in the dress, and I have taken my dreads out, so normal hairness for me, which is always odd. I don't know. I'm just not very happy with myself at the moment. Anyway! So I am going to hers to get ready and drink champagne before we set off for the hall, where there will be so many people I haven't seen in such a long time. It will be my first night out in about a month (VW festival was a fucking shambles), I really really need it. I am going out of my beady little mind.

Three more days. Ugh. Seems too far away.

Anyway, enough self pitying rambles for now. 12 days until birthday time, so I should snap out of all this once things start occuring.

Ho hum.

Well went to see Violet Violet on Tuesday night, they were very very good. Feebs had the day off work on Wednesday so I stayed and had lunch with her which was rather pleasant 8). K*T had to go to the Big Chill so I didn't get to see her, which was sad, but ne'er mind there will be more chances I am sure.

Today I went to see my nan with mum, and had a quick look around Dereham, although the most exciting thing I found was a packet of 50 tea tree and cucumber face wipes for 99p.

Otherwise I have been doing jack shit because I am broke. Ugh. I paid mum back £1000 out of my secret holy crap I am desperate for money savings today, but I still have £300 left to pay. Crap. I haven't even got anything to show for all that money either. Oh a £30 top from Camden. I have no idea where it all went. Actually I do. On that bloody car of mine. Which no doubt will break down again just before its MOT or something equally as irritating, like just after its MOT. Damn Lulla.

Also I feel rank lately. I have lost my appetite totally this week, just about managing to eat one meal, but only because I have to or I will be ill. My stomach is just rejecting everything, not that I have been sick or anything, but it really gets pissed off when I put something in it, all gurgles and aches and general unhappyness.

Also having a crisis of appearance and self for the past two days. I've got too much time on my hands to think of all the things that could be better I guess.

All in all it has been a bit of a shit week.

Could have gone to a beer festival tonight but I have no cash dollar. So no doubt I will spend the weekend sitting around getting tired of my own company.

Anyway... no one actually reads this anymore, you fags! ^_^

Ok! Yes this is an update, ya huh that's right bitches. Click on all the links for photos ^_^

So where to start. I guess the end of term...

As you can see from the photos posted in my last entry the ball was pretty good. Don't think it was forty squids good in terms of the acts and organisation of it all - they'd already run out of wine by the time Fran, Laz, Meryl and I got there, I mean what the fuck... this is a STUDENT ball and they ran out of alcohol. Yeah good one. And what was left was overpriced >_< But otherwise, it was a great excuse to dress up and get trashed. Everyone looked very glamourous. I got a kiss from Carin! Ha. Although upon seeing me the next day she had no recolection of it and said "I hardly saw you all night." Uh huh. Mind, not that the evening is a scenario of total clarity for me either!

Since then I have been back in sunny Norfolk with mum.

I've had quite a few days out at the beach, once with mum and Mags and twice with Feebs and K*T [etc], which has been great. I've got a real thing for the beach this year, although now the brats are out from school I'm not sure how much I will enjoy it.

James [part of norwich crew duex] also had a birthday bash at his place. I was quite drunk - it was not the best time for Hippy to text me wondering what to do about a mouse running around his house. I was not very much help, heh. Dork fell asleep on my bosom for a considerable amount of time also. Highly eventful evening! Heh.

Went to Canterbury for a week about a month and a half back, didn't get up to too much, just enjoyed the company of me Hippy ♥ Went to Broadstairs beach and found a dead baby shark. Yeah I know, very cool. Don't think I actually have any photos from that trip, like I said we didn't get up to much.

Had a couple of Violet Violet filled nights as well, ooh and saw Giant Robots and The City of Tokyo with Woo! Tis always good to see the sibling types. [still owe Tone his birthday present. Ahem.]

Went to London last week to stay with Fran for a few days. We went to see The Birthday Massacre on Thursday 20th - finally!!!!!! Met Fifi and her pink hair. It was completely amazing, they were so so SO good. I loved it. I drank lots of ale, as it was most cost effective, suprisingly tasty, but ended up being quite drunk because of it. Fran, Paul and I wore matching fairy wings in different colours [pink, red and purple], we looked funky as hell, and are going to try and make a fairy society at uni next year ^_^ Lots of glitter and fun. I was quite disheatened once we'd got back to Fran's, knowing that it's going to be a very long time before we get the chance to see The Birthday Massacre again... post gig come down syndrome. But I took a stupid amount of photos, and we got to meet them 8D WOOPLA! So I was fine again in the morning [if a little hungover]. Chibi was a dream, she really was, she was just lovely - it was tempting to stuff her in my pocket and run away. I could rant about The Birthday Massacre for ages, really, they were certainly worth the months of waiting since knowing they were going to play.

On Friday we went to Point Hill for drinking fun. The view of London was amazing, especially for a country girl like me. It didn't seem so scary from way up there [it's a very big hill o_O]. Met lots of lovely new people [Adam, Becci, Chris, John, Needles, Vikki], although there were still lots that I didn't get to speak to. Adam has the lovliest hair and voice. Fact. Vikki ended up being quite ill... by that I mean passing out ...so that meant a very long carrying expedition down the hill. Fortunately we had John, who is actually some kind of Superman and carried her most of the way, as about five of us couldn't, go figure [er just like to point out that Vicki is very slim, it's just very difficult carrying a floppy person ^_^]. He also went completely out of his way to help so, big up for John. Was a good night though, I gained a grazed knee and swollen ankle from it, well it wouldn't be good if I didn't end up with some form of injury! ^_^ I lost my Butterfly neclace, which was not so good though 8( Hmmf.

Went to Camden for the first time - lameo - on Saturday and met up with Laz 8D I got a wonderful new top and an awesome black kitty hat which fits over my dreads! Yeah! Saturday night was Slimelight, and for once we were early meeting people - about forty minutes early. We were also at Slime not long after it had opened so it was quite dead when we got there, but we did hijack the best seats in the place 8D Where I spent most of my time actually as I was totally knackered. Met Laura, who is a star! I had a ten minute dance with Laz at one point... but that was the extent of my activeness. John and I had some sort of fanning system going on which I think we would have melted without, it was super hot in there, I was one oversized ball of sweat. Had fun chatting to him and whoever else sat down next to us though, the lazy way to have a night out 8D. Ashton and Kate were there from Canterbury, was nice to see them as it's been a while. Walked out at about seven in the morning and burned in the morning light [note to self: invest in some shades next time I go to Slime]. Had a few hours sleep, then was escorted back to Victoria station by Fran and Paul.

Spent the last week in Canterbury with my beloved Hippy. Has been very good to see him ♥ Went to the beach with him, Juamez and Beth [love beach beach love], think the beach was called Minnis or something odd like that. We walked for ages but had a whole stretch of beach to ourselves then, and some huwage rocks to climb. Woop. Collected lots of Mussles, and took them home to eat. They were tasty. But I felt kind of bad... conflict with my animal ethics. Meh. Oh well. >_< Went to Alberrys on Wednesday night because we were so friggin bored, got quite drunk and danced like fools. Half price cocktails, hell yes. It did render me totaly broke for Lou's birthday shanningans for the next day though, but Carin was very generous in her vodka drinks for me ^_^ Had a super time, was great to see Lou so drunk. Heh. Just been chilling otherwise, watching loads of films, which kept giving me head aches, not good with TV screens for too long. The Ringer was amusing, predictable, but still. Kidulthood was great, really fucking dark though. Was interesting for me as Kidulthood is a term we use often in Sociology. Possibly not to be watched after a couple of spliffs however as we did o_O Oh Roland has been moved into the living room as it was just too hot for him in Hippy's room, he's much happier now and enjoys having all the people watch him ^_^

Came back to Norfolk yesterday. Was sad to go, but I have to try and get a job for a short while as I have no money [have I said that enough yet]. Just a shit factory job [NOT BOWES!!!] would be great, something I can quit really easily and that won't have a tizzy fit about my hair and piercings. I have enough petrol in Lulla to get me to Norwich tomorrow though, going to see Violet Violet @ Brickmakers, but most importantly to see Fluff and Dork, Feebs even has the day off on Wednesday, which is pretty funky. Seems like a very long time since I have seen them both. Just hope the gig is free, or err, well, I hope I won't get left outside anyway o_O

These are from last night at The venue for Andy my beloved house mate's brithday, a tender nineteen years of age. Well fun night. Although I did manage to lose all of my flat mates at some point in the night... lame arses had gone to bed when I got back as well. Chuh. Heh heh. Hungover this morning. Well most of the day. Feeling much better now though. Too much wine, snakebite and apple sourz for this one. Fran (that's spankinsparky in lj speak) somehow avoided a hangover. o_O Dagnabbit.

Ho hum so I am at the half way point with my 4000 word personal project.

I have until Monday to complete it.

Which should be enough time...

...if I stop getting distracted.

So anyway.

I am thinking about becoming a prision officer after university for a while. For a start it will be a good experience, secondly it will be useful if I decide to go into social work at a later date, thirdly you have to be fit and fairly stong to do it, so I might actually start exercising properly again, and stick to it rather than just having sporadic episodes. But yes I do realise I don't need a Sociology degree to do it, and other than being utterly boring this may be contributing to why I am finding it difficult to get involved with my project... well it is about child sexual abuse also, which can be pretty damn heavy going at times - though I did pick the topic, so it is my own fault.

I am going to send out a couple of letters soon and see if I can do some volunteer work at Norwich, or even Wayland prision.

Although... that may mean drugs tests... o_O ... but... summer... smoking... raves... ARGH! I can't believe I have only just thought of this dilemma.

Now I am torn. Maybe I should just volunteer for a month or there abouts, that I could handle. Hmm. Or maybe I could steal someone elses piss? Anyone? No... fair enough.

Maybe I should just give it all up and become a struggling musician. And my heart skips a beat at the thought.

I haven't been able to have one fucking practice with Vodka Memories this holiday. It's ridiculous. I was so excited about organising our own gig and playing again, and it all went shit.

But I did find a Yamaha acoustic in a charity shop for a fiver which I have been drowning my sorrows with. Bargain of my life I believe.

I haven't played my drums either. Although that is vastly my own fault, but also partly because mum keeps sticking shit in my den/garage/thing so I don't have room/can't be arsed to lug it all out. Chuh. One day I will re-skin my drum kit too. One day I will have huge amounts of money and my own recording studio so I can do what the fuck I like when I like.

Yup.

Ok I'm going to stop, or we'll be getting into the realms of shattered dreams and bitterness.

Well what have I to say?

Nothing really. Bah. Home for the Easter holdiays... saw a few peeps in the early stages but am now resding in the house of mill road trying not to get distracted from my work.

Obviously I am not doing so well... got write 4000 words by next monday. Woops.
